While much of downtown Raleigh was busy removing fallen trees left by the massive tornado last month, Kate and I were busy cutting down perfectly healthy standing trees, albeit with a slightly guilty consciences. Finally got my heirloom chainsaw back and proceeded to open up the backyard with hopes of starting from scratch with the landscaping and possibly a small garden next spring. We now have some two massive brush piles we are hoping to chip up and till into the soil in June. If anyone knows how to get a hold of a chipper or a family of homeless beavers please let us know.
Progress on the house has been primarily electrical lately which does not really lend itself to photographs, unless your name is Robbie, and you know what you are looking at.
We took a few more pictures of the tornado damage at the historic city cemetery near to our home. At this point the destruction is starting to be less apparent amongst the city-scape. I am not sure is this is a function of getting used to it or having had much of the debris picked up. Either way it was an amazingly powerful day.
