The shed is done!

After all the hardwork and everyone’s time, materials, and energy we have a completed shed.  Andy has been spending time inside the shed making shelves and organizing what we have over there so far.  He also made a loft area and bike rack for the ceiling.  While he was inside, I was outside painting and spreading the chips that we created with the brush pile.  We now have a more level yard and the dirt that was covered in asphalt will have some new organic material to fill it up.  We still have one patch of asphalt to take up in the backyard, but we’ll have to wait until the construction is finished.  We continue to find areas of brick walls, and concrete platforms buried in the yard that we have to dig up.  I think Mom is convinced that we will find Jimmy Hoffa’s grave in our backyard someday.

Inside, the work is coming along as well.  The sheetrock is ready for paint, the floors are about to be refinished, and the front porch has a ceiling and some new floor boards.  Hopefully, the rotten porch boards will be our last “surprise” since we don’t have much of that contingency left!  We are so excited to see the progress and are now overwhelmed by trying to pick out colors for all the rooms!  We are leaning towards one color for most of the rooms, some version of off white, with a little bit of color in a few of the rooms.  Here are some pictures of the progress inside and out.

I cannot believe that is the same back yard I saw back in December!! Your hard work is paying off. The shed looks magnificent! The work benches and bike racks and such make it so PROFESSIONAL! And the sheet rock is about the greatest thing since sliced bread!! Emma feels right at home there, too, doesn’t she? Good job, guys! I can barely wait to see paint on the walls!
