Floors and Trim

There has been alot of progress on the floors and trim this week.  The hardwood guys have finished their first rough sanding and should be back when the painting is finished for the final finishing.  The floors were much blonder than we anticipated, but we love the look so far.  It looks like a new old place.  The floor tile has been set in all three bathrooms.  We chose three different tiles for all three bathroom.  There was a good deal on marble at Lowe’s, so we chose that for our master bathroom.  Hopefully, the grout and showers will be done next week.  Trim has been going up throughout the house to tie everything together.  It is exciting to see all the progress.  The porch ceiling has been stained and creates a new feel for the entrance.  If all goes well, we will be moving in at the end of July.  It is looking like the beginning of August right now, though.  Two weeks!  Two weeks!

While taking pictures I heard a commotion and things falling and found Andy looking inside the flue in the front room.  Along with soot and garbage, he found a dead squirrel.  He was then stuck with the task of removing the dead squirrel.  It was very entertaining for me.  Hopefully it is the last of the dead things we will find in the house.  We are still looking for Jimmy Hoffa’s grave, though, Mom.

Oh, my gosh! I absolutely LOVE the tile you’ve chosen! The tile for the half bath is just perfect for that spot! Good job! And the marble in the master is luscious! The most beautiful thing so far, though, is the ceiling of the porch! My gosh, they did a good job on that! Everything is just gorgeous. GREAT JOB!!
