Today we climbed the Barranco Wall. We could see the wall from camp and the trail that was going straight up the wall. Our guide told us the day before that the trail was steep, so at that point I was expecting vertical. We didn’t use poles today, since we needed our hands to climb up the wall. The views from the wall were beautiful as we were getting close to the side we would summit. After reaching the top (around 4200 m) we have beautiful views of the valley. The trail straightens out and continues along towards another ridge that we climb down. This trail was a lot of fun, but scary. We climbed down rocks; some covered in water, to get to the bottom of a valley that we needed to climb back up. After many ups and downs, we make it to Karanga camp. If we had chosen the 6-day climb, today we would have continued to Barafu camp. Thankfully, we had a short fun climb and time to relax at camp (take naps and play cards).
